Everyone Needs a Place

My Tumblr Dash (which is like one really enthusiastic person at this point) has gone crazy for the trailer of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. I can see why! I'm always up for watching WLW films from other Asian countries, and I'm hoping and praying that it makes it past the local censor boards so I can watch it in the cinema. It's not Bohemian Rhapsody where they can cut a couple of parts, the queerness is inherent to it.

I cannot stress how much I really really want to watch this. The exchange between Sweety and her father, "That day I knew I must hide my truth forever", "Why does everyone keep forcing me in one direction"; they all just hit me with the relatability. Ghazal Dhaliwal, God bless you and your script!! She's trans and it shows in the nuances and I want to support her even more!!!!! Fingers crossed it'll get a Malaysian release.
